Many animals can be captured, trained, sold and used as a pet, guardian or hunting companion. While exotic beasts may command fantastic prices on the market, they are exceedingly rare. The table below lists animals that are likely to be encountered in a town market.

| Donkey | 80 sp | An average quality donkey. Can be used as a steed by small characters or as a pack animal. |
| Falcon, common | 24 sp | A sparrowhawk (small, agile and short-winged) that excels at weaving through the trees of the forest and catching rabbits and other small prey. This is the most afordable of the hunting falcons and within reach of merchants, yeoman, priests and other middle class. |
| Falcon, noble | 360 sp | A peregrin falcon - the classic hunting falcon of the medieval world. Capable of executing high speed dives and taking down herons, ducks and cranes mid-air. |
| Falcon, sovereign | 2,000 sp | A gyrfalcon - the largest and most powerful hunting falcon in the world. Exceptional white plummage. Powerful enough to bring down giant wild geese. This type of falcon is the ultimate hunting bird and is often favored by kings. |
| Goat | 15 sp | A female goat that can produce milk and be used as a light weight pack animal. |
| Mule | 140 sp | Mules are larger, stronger and faster than donkeys. They are less picky about food and easier to maintain than horses. They can be used as a steed for small characters or as a pack animal. |
| Pony | 100 sp | A type of small horse. Strong, sturdy, intelligent, but often stubborn. |
| Ox | 150 sp | A castrated male cow usually used as a draft animal. Strong and docile, but slow. Most poor farmers will use an ox to pull a plow since an ox is far cheaper than a horse. |
| Sheep | 15 sp | A female sheep which can produce milk and wool. |
